Chen Jirui

Chen Jirui, M.D. (1930-2004) graduated from Peking Union Medical College in 1957. In 1984, Dr. Chen was among the founders of the Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the first English language periodical on this discipline published in China. He also served on the faculty of the China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine. After immigrating to the United States, he served as director of research at the East West Medical Research Institute in Los Angeles, and was co-editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture. He was also a research scientist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, an instructor at SAMRA University, and director of research at Tongyuan International.
