Dan Bensky
Dan Bensky obtained a diploma in Chinese medicine from the Macau Institute of Chinese Medicine in 1975, a Masters in Classical Chinese from the University of Washington in 1996, and a Doctorate in the Discussion of Cold Damage from the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences in 2006. In 1982, he graduated with a Doctor of Osteopathy from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he was a research assistant for John Upledger. He contributed to the translation and editing of important texts on East Asian medicine, such as Chinese Herbal Medicine: Materia Medica and the Discussion of Cold Damage with Commentaries for the Clinic. Dan helped found what is now the Seattle Institute of East Asian Medicine in 1994. In 2008, he was awarded a Wang Dingyi Cup International Prize for contributions to Chinese medicine. For over forty years he has been teaching in the fields of osteopathy and East Asian medicine and working on utilizing the connections between them.
